Rugby rivalry between Kellands’ offices on freezing day

Kellands Bristol and Kellands Gloucester brave the weather at Ashton Gate to watch a scintillating match.

Whilst the Kellands team is united in striving to provide excellent advice and service to its clients, the offices are divided when it comes to their rugby loyalties. Kellands Bristol are avid supporters of the Bristol Bears, whilst Kellands Gloucester are passionate followers of the Gloucester Cherries.

The two titans of West Country rugby clashed on a freezing day at Ashton Gate last Saturday, as both sides sought to win the local bragging rights – at least until the next game!

It’s not been the best season for either of the teams, but Saturday produced a veritable Christmas cracker of a match, with Bristol beating Gloucester 51-26 in a high scoring game.

Bristol raced into a 29-0 lead before Gloucester got on the scoreboard and the Bears racked up seven trys in the match. A difficult afternoon for Gloucester was not helped by the early injury to prop Mayco Vivas.

After the match. Gloucester head coach George Skivington said "From the outset we expected it to be fast and furious but Bristol were really sharp and we were chasing shadows after that."

Despite the result and the weather, the camaraderie between the two offices remained high throughout, as the pictures below testify.

So, whilst Bristol Bears supporters can boast the bragging rights for the next couple of months, the Gloucester Cherries will be looking to redress the balance when the Bears travel to Kingsholm, the home of Gloucester rugby, at the end of March 2024.
