David Carstairs exam success
Kellands Bristol’s David Carstairs has passed the R01 exam — an important milestone in his journey towards becoming a qualified financial planner.
We’re delighted to share some great news from Bristol — David Carstairs has passed the R01 Financial Services, Regulation and Ethics exam, a key component of the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. It’s an important early milestone on his journey towards becoming a fully qualified financial planner.
R01 is the foundation paper of the CII R0 Diploma. It tests your understanding of how the UK financial services industry is structured, how the FCA regulates firms and advisers, and how ethical principles apply in day‑to‑day advice.
It’s a challenging exam that requires a solid grasp of regulation, ethics, and the wider financial services landscape — and passing it is a strong demonstration of David’s commitment to his professional development.
David has worked in the financial services industry for the past four years and joined Kellands Bristol in July 2025 to pursue a long‑term career in financial planning. Part of that process is to undertake the Level 4 Diploma, with the goal of progressing to Financial Adviser and building a long‑term career within the firm. This latest exam success sets him firmly on the right path.
Many congratulations to David on an excellent result.
